December at Northside!

Hey everyone!

We're on our way home from St Louis and it was a fantastic time!  Our teams represented us well and we enjoying spending time together.

The quiz this Saturday (Dec 12) is at Chicago Northside.  Registration will begin at 8:30 and right now we plan to be done by 12:30, no lunch being served.  This is a great opportunity to bring along other members of your youth groups and give them an idea of what quizzing is about, and maybe have a fun meal or enjoy some fun in the city.

Registration will be open tonight.  Please do your best to get your registrations in early!  Don't forget this month is our christmas ugly sweater contest-dress up and get a ticket!  In addition, there are additional tickets available for people who know the memory-scott will post a ticket reward update for this later in the week!

Keep talking to your teams about Q-its a really great time!

Remember we need officials and equipment to make our quiz successful-and we're happy to train. Please register or shoot me an email letting me know!

We have had some people express an interest in doing a jump clinic which we feel would really be beneficial for our district.  If this is something your team would like to participate in, please let me know and we may add it to the January quiz, and offer some alternate activities for quizzers who choose not to participate.

Thanks for all you do, especially in this busy Christmas season to really engage students in the word!

Grace and Peace!

November Quiz at Joliet 1st!

Posted 08 Nov, 2015 04:48 PM by Ron

Hey everyone!!

The quiz is Saturday!  Team registration is open.  We would like everyone to arrive between 8:30-8:45 so we can update rosters and get started right away!  We did not assign anything extra for tickets this month, but we will do ugly sweaters in December!!  We need lots of officials if we are going to continue to do 2 team quizzing and we need to know if you are bringing equipment.   Please sign up on the website if you know you are coming! This quiz will determine the Top 10 who will represent us at the all-star quiz in St. Louis.  I believe that the cost will be similar to last year--around $60.  We do ask that all quizzers ride down/room with the group.  There will be details given to those who make the teams.  To qualify, you must be in 7th grade.  If you make the top 10 and are in 6th grade, you will have the opportunity to go as an alternate-and may be given an opportunity to quiz one or two rounds.  Also, if you are a coach or parent of a student who makes the team and you would like to go and/or coach, please let us know.  We wil be looking for at least one coach.  Housing is first come/first serve, so if you want to go, we will take adults until the rooms are full, after that you will be on your own.  See you Saturday in Joliet!

Saturday at Lombard

Posted 06 Sep, 2015 09:31 PM by Ron

I hope that you're having a fantastic holiday weekend!  We are starting our quiz season strong on Saturday at Lombard over Galatians 1-3.  We will do on-site registration at 8:30 that morning.  The cost will continue to be $3 per quizzer.  PLEASE PLEASE register your teams, equipment or ability to officiate online at no later than THURSDAY AT NOON.  *we always need officials and equipment--the more the merrier!!) This allows us time to make a schedule and be ready to go sooner on Saturday morning.  Scott has been working on a ticket/prize system for quizzing that only is slightly about quizzing, and more about mystery and fellowship.  We're excited to kick that off!  At this time, lunch is out, so we will plan for an hour for that.  please be respectful of other teams and be on time returning from lunch.  We hope to wrap up the day by 3:30 at the latest.

Other things to take note of: Quizfest will be at Kankakee First on October 24th--this is a fun local invitational with experienced and novice teams.  We would encourage you to attend--it is a lot of fun, and people for several states come!

Q2016 will be June 27-July 2 at Southern Nazarene University.  We have set the cost at $230 before transportation.  We strongly encourage you to start saving for that, as it will be a super fun event for all skill levels and we really want to have strong representation.

If you have any questions, please be sure to let us know!!  See you Saturday!!
